Break Action Gun Policy
We only allow break action guns on our hunts. Safety is our top priority. We hunt birds in a mixture of terrain and weather. We feel strongly that the safest way to hunt upland birds is with a reliable gun that can be broken open at any time to ensure the safety of the clients, guides, and dogs.
What's the best way to get there for my hunt?
Billings and Great Falls have the nearest commercial airports to Lewistown. Bozeman and Billings, Montana have the nearest commercial airports to Big Timber. You can rent a car at the airport. Lewistown and Big Timber have airports for private planes.

You are welcome to bring your dog(s). If your party brings more than one dog then you will need to supply field transportation for your dogs. Dogs are required to stay in a portable kennel while in your room. There is $15 per night per dog charge at The Judith Mountain Lodge. You will be asked to supply a credit card in case there are room damages.
Hazards your dog may encounter in the field include rattlesnakes, golden eagles, porcupines, badgers, wolverines, bobcats, lynx, mountain lions, black & grizzly bears, coyotes, wolves, skunks, raccoons, cactus, dehydration, fetid water, snares, barbed wire, spear grass, lightning and automobiles.
What do you do with the birds?
The guides clean and package the birds for travel, adhering to Montana state and federal laws. We can freeze them for you or keep them refrigerated. We recommend packing a soft sided cooler to transport your birds home for your consumption and enjoyment.
All the guides have lots of experience preparing wild birds for the table.
