
Upland Bird Hunts Around Lewistown, Montana
From early September thru mid-November we hunt around Lewistown, Montana. The terrain consists of sage brush steppe, short and mixed-grass prairie, brush filled coulees, bench lands and agricultural lands.
Our early season Lewistown hunt is for huns, sage grouse and sharp-tailed grouse. By mid-October we are hunting for huns, sharptails and pheasant. Expect to walk four to six miles a day. During September sharptail and sage grouse are often the main focus in this area. This is the only are we hunt pheasant. Most of the land we hunt in the Lewistown area is private. We also hunt some state school trust lands and BLM, all with private access.
Lodging and Package Options for Lewistown
We offer a 3 day hunt, and we can provide a 3 day four night package that includes meals and lodging at Judith Mountain Lodge. The lodge has a good restaurant and bar, and is located at the base of the Judith Mountains, in a very serene and quiet setting. Dogs are welcome. It is about 15 minutes from downtown Lewistown. Packages can be adjusted for length in stays.
You may also procure your own lodging and meet us for day hunts.
2025 Package RATES - 3 Days / 4 Nights:
- $4,500 / hunter (two-hunter minimum)
- $5,700 / single hunter
- $600 / non-hunter (shared room)
2025 RATES – Daily:
- $1,100 / hunter (two hunters minimum)
- $1,500 / single hunter
- $125 / non-hunter
Additional days are $1,295/day/hunter (two-hunter minimum) and $1,705/day (single hunter). We do not mix hunting parties. We have a maximum of three hunters per guide. Guides do not carry a gun. Only break-action shotguns are allowed on our hunts. Rates include meals, lodging, 8% bed tax, soft drinks, guide, dogs, lease fees, vehicles in the field and bird cleaning. Meals begin the first evening of your stay. Rates do not include transportation to lodging, alcoholic beverages, room pet fees, guns, shells, gratuities or licenses.
