Cast and Blast Packages

Many people who love to wing shoot, also love to cast a fly rod. The two seem to go together naturally, and have much in common. They pair well together, and we even use the feathers of Hungarian partridge, and rooster pheasants to tie flies for trout.

In Montana, we are blessed with incredible upland bird hunting and trout fishing. All of our guides are full time professional guides, with the exception of Dennis, who retired from the fishing part. We have a culmination of experience on the vast majority of Montana’s fishable waters spanning several decades.

In addition to our upland bird hunting offerings, we are pleased to offer guided fly fishing experiences through Ten Mile Creek Outfitters. We can offer the ultimate Cast and Blast trip - combining the best of both worlds with guided fly fishing for trophy trout on one of Montana’s many blue ribbon trout streams and our wing shooting opportunities in Big Timber and Lewistown, Montana.

If you are interested in a cast and blast trip, there are a couple of important things to note.

If you wish to be successful, you need to prioritize correctly. I do not recommend trying to hunt upland birds and fish in the same day. It can be done, but in order to ensure the best chances of success at either, I recommend focusing on one at a time. I would devote at least a couple days to upland hunting, and one day to fishing if you are looking to do a 3 day trip.

Typically, guests do a 3 day hunt, and add a day or two of fishing at the beginning or end of the trip. If you are interested in booking a fishing trip independently of hunting we can help with that also.
